Project “FREE LUTE MANUFACTURING FOR EVERYONE“

 We truly believe that is possible to bring together the world of craftsmanship and the world of disability. For this reason, we have realized this project that is really concrete. Thanks to the collaboration with the art school “Munari” in Cremona and thanks to Alfonso’s enthusiasm (accompanied by Valentina Rigoli, his teacher). Knowing the shape, touch thickness, choosing the colour and performing together the key passages are the objectives that this project wants to reach, involving disabled personally in all the steps.
The project consists in a series of meeting where it is possible to experience sound, perfume, colour and materials. In this experience, we take care of timing and different skills of each person. The activities are both recreational and experiential. The recreational activities are thought to learn the names of the different part of the bow and materials used, the experiential one is related to sound and handcraft. Finally, for the participants it is possible to play the violin and perform some simplified steps for the realization of this instrument.

Academia Cremonensis
This project was thought to give a future to bowmaking Italian tradition and it is constantly growing. It is a unique school that allows to become bowmaker. Since it is a private school, there are several request for scholarship and for this reason we need your help and support.

Project “A”
We want to convert the multimedia cd-rom “the BOW” on a website accessible to everybody:
the multimedia CD in 6 languages was made by maestro Giovanni Lucchi over 20 years ago and is now incompatible with the new computers and operating systems.
Rich in images and practical guidance could become a valuable tool to learn about the bow for musicians and also the bow makers, putting it online freely available on the internet for everybody. 

Project “B”
We want to make accessible to all visitors to the “Small Violin Bow Museum” to restore dignity to the violin bow, the inseparable companion of the violin but too often unknown and ignored. 

Project “C”
The paths of knowledge of the art of bowmaking may be different. To achieve this we would like to meet with children in schools and also in our Bottega, allowing them to enter the magical world of Bowmaking discovering the beauty and charm of manual craft and the materials that make up the violin bow. 

Project “D”
The creation of a children’s picture book about Bowmaking. We would like to offer to childrens a fun and effective support to deepen and share with their parents all the charm of an ancient art. Characters such as horses, whales and elephants enliven this book, and thanks to the illustrations made by professionals everythings come to life. 

Project “E”
We want to circulate the autobiography of Maestro Giovanni Lucchi in Italian, in English and as many other languages is possible: this book allows to discover how a young musician starts on the bows, how did the LucchiMeter, device that has revolutionized the world of violin and bow making and how the teaching style of the teacher Giovanni Lucchi has led him to obtain excellent results in the craft of violin bows.
